Freedom arrives the way joy does, all at once, in every direction, with complete disregard for anything neat or contained.
The word Freedom is woven into the foundation of this piece, painted into the underlayer in layers of color before anything else began. What followed was an act of pure creative abandon - paint thrown, dripped and moved across the surface with the kind of uninhibited energy that only comes when you stop thinking and start feeling.
The result is one of the most vibrant pieces in this collection. Layers of coral pink, sage and forest green, chartreuse yellow, warm gold and champagne metallic build horizontally across the canvas, with drips running both vertically and horizontally, crossing and weaving in a way that creates an almost grid-like quality in places. Through it all, the background breathes. There is a lushness to this piece, a sense of a rose garden seen through rain, abundant and alive and completely unconcerned with being tidy.
The heart chakra colors - soft pinks and greens - are woven through every layer. Whether intentional or not, this piece carries that energy of love.
