Let's Go Home

$3,000.00

"Wherever you go, there you are." I'd heard this saying a million times. And I would have told you I understood it, that changing your zip code doesn't change what's going on inside you. But knowing something and feeling it are not the same thing, and for a long stretch of my life, I kept reaching for a new apartment, a new city, the next vacation, some part of me still hoping a different set of walls might do what the inner work hadn't done yet.

But once I found some of that grounding within myself, I understood something else too, something I already knew from thirty years of working as an interior designer. The work is internal, but you still need somewhere to do it. A room that meets you with peace instead of asking anything of you. A place that lets you rest instead of just escape. That is the feeling I wanted to paint. The particular wistfulness of missing a place that feels like home, even while you’re somewhere else great. The pull of a space made and held with love, waiting for you.

Let's Go Home carries the energy of a place you want to return to, the pull toward somewhere that feels like relief the moment you walk through the door. Warm brown and burnt umber ground the piece from below, with cranberry and orange moving through in bold, generous strokes. Chartreuse and lemon yellow catch like light through a window at the end of a long day, and beige and peach soften the space around them. Copper and gold run throughout, giving the whole piece a warmth that shifts as the light in the room changes.

This piece was made with presence, breath, and complete surrender to what the paint wanted to do.

**Please note: The colors in this piece shift and change depending on the light of the room it lives in, as well as the reflective quality of the metallic pigments used throughout. Photography captures one moment in one light; in your home, this piece will reveal itself differently throughout the day.

Medium: Acrylic on canvas

Dimensions: 48" x 36" x 1.5"

Display: Sold unframed, sides painted, wire hardware attached and ready to hang.

This piece arrives infused with Reiki energy and made with intention from beginning to end.
