Presence began where all of my canvas pieces begin, with a single word chosen in meditation, painted in layers of color into the foundation before anything else. But this piece went further than most in its making.
The foundation was built through finger painting - hands replacing brushes, paint mixed and moved with direct touch, layer upon layer of mocha, café latte, burgundy and fuchsia pushed together with what can only be described as playful abandon. Once that tactile foundation was established, wild thin brushstrokes were layered on top, and then paint was thrown directly at the canvas. The canvas was turned multiple times, allowing drips to fall in both directions - from top and from bottom - creating the vertical rivers of color that define this piece.
The final layers were applied in metallic liquid acrylics, copper, bronze and gold, before the entire surface was finished with a high gloss varnish that brightens the palette and makes the metallics catch the light.
This piece is alive in a way that is hard to capture in a photograph, as it shifts with the light.
As with all canvas pieces, the underlayer word is woven into the foundation of the painting, the energy of it present in the work even when it can't be fully seen.
This piece arrives infused with reiki energy and made with intention from beginning to end.

This piece is sold unframed. The sides of the canvas are painted and finished, making it ready to hang as is. Wire hanging hardware will be attached before shipping.
