There’s a fabric I sourced years ago for a client's living room, and somehow it came back to me the day I made this piece. I recognized the colors as I was reaching for them, purple and gold and soft blue-grey, before I had even made a conscious choice. Thirty years as an interior designer stays with a person, it shows up in my studio whether I plan for it or not.
This piece was made with complete surrender to what the paint wanted to do, and what it wanted to do was this - soft and luminous and quietly alive, with gold moving through it like light through cloud.
