Violet Hour has the quality of a sky that can't quite decide between day and night, that suspended moment when everything goes luminous and the colors become more themselves than they are at any other time.
Hot fuchsia and magenta move through this piece in rich, layered waves, with soft lavender and purple weaving through the center. Flashes of warm gold and chartreuse yellow appear throughout like light breaking through, and dark burgundy veins run through the layers adding depth and contrast. The whole piece pulses with energy.
This piece was made with presence, breath, and complete surrender to what the paint wanted to do.
