Each piece begins with intention and ends in surrender - wet pigment pulled through water, color blooming across paper in ways that can never be replicated. These are one-of-a-kind mixed media works, each one a unique moment captured in color.
Majesty has the quality of a sky at sunset when the colors are so rich and so alive that you feel, just for a moment, in the presence of something far greater than yourself.
Deep burgundy moves through this piece in full, generous layers, with warm gold and copper threading throughout like light caught in something ancient. Soft blush and cream open the composition wherever the color needs room to breathe, and sage green appears quietly through the detail like something living pushing through rich earth. Dark brown grounds the lower layers, giving the whole piece a sense of weight and rootedness beneath all that warmth.

Soft Landing has the quality of a landscape seen from above at the end of a long day.
Pale blush and dusty pink move through this piece in quiet horizontal bands, with forest green, sage and chartreuse weaving through the middle. Copper and gold metallic catch the light along the horizon line, warm against the cooler tones surrounding them. The whole piece has a stillness to it - unhurried, settled, as if everything has found exactly where it needs to be.

The Clearing has the quality of the sky in the hour after a storm passes - that particular stillness when the air is washed clean and the light comes back differently than it left.
Emerald green moves through this piece in rich, saturated pools, with navy and deep teal creating depth and shadow in the layers beneath. Pale gray and soft white open throughout like cloud breaking apart, and warm gold burns through the center of the detail like sun finding its way back through. Light blue moves through the lower portions with a quietness that balances all that depth above, and dark branching forms run through the composition like trees seen through mist or ink moving through water.

Each canvas begins with a single word chosen in meditation, painted over and over into the under-layer, infusing the piece with its energy before a single brushstroke of color is laid down. What emerges from that foundation is something that could only have come through in that specific moment, in that specific state of presence.

My Journey
Hi, I’m Jennifer Flanders, and my journey with art didn't begin because I wanted to be an artist. It began because I was searching for peace, for presence, and for a way back to myself. What I found in the art studio was more than I ever expected.
Before every painting begins, I clear the space, call in the energy, and create the conditions for something sacred to emerge.
